sketch book project 08

Deciphered:

I was feeling a bit emo that day - thus the sad goth-like girl on the right and the writing above, "Void static cold, I've lost faith in many things and many people". If I remember correctly this was right before I moved out of my friends house whose dad turned out to be a sexual predator. "Question Everything" came to me in a dream by a ghost-like figure. The hieroglyphs stand for "megan". The ghost like figures are also from the dream. It's a bit hard to see, but in the bottom-left corner is a bunch of dark souls in a hellish sphere reaching up begging for salvation. The lighter, winged souls are ascending and looking down at them blankly with a vague sense of pity. Also once again there are some Agents of Oblivion lyrics, "You're gonna leave an ugly skull when you go". The right page is just random sketches of various people in my head and a dragon-thing. At this point I found some watercolor pencils that I was playing around with. The thing on the top-right corner is actually my fingerprint that I lifted in my forensics class in my senior year of high school. This gave me the idea to sign all of my paintings with my finger print in the corner. That way people really cant steal/forge it. Also, how much more personal can you get? I also had the idea to enlarge my print enough so that I could make a linoleum print of it. I still wanna do that.

such a neat look into the art of the mind... it's like watching linear thought being mapped through ideas, but presented in an physical medium...
